Amoxicillin is effective against various bacteria like Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, H. influenzae, N. gonorrhoeae, E. coli, Pneumococci and many others. The FDA approved Amoxicillin in December 1974.

Apart from this 1.9% of Doctors said that Ciprofloxacin and Clindamycin are the prescribed.
Here, the question asked to doctors: Which of the following brand you most likely prescribe in your practice for bacterial infection.
So, 93.4% of Doctors are most likely to prescribe Augmentin 375MG TAB in their practice for bacterial infections. As per the rest of the doctors response, 2.8% of doctors prefer Megamox CV 375MG and Myclav 375MG.
Augmentin is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of many different infections caused by bacteria such as lower respiratory tract infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bacterial sinusitis, animal/human bite wounds, and skin infections.
Then, asked the question to rank on the Combination for the infection in which prescribing of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid is the most.
According to 59.4%, doctors prescribe this combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid in Sinus Infections. Some of them also prescribe this combination in Skin Infections their ration is lower then sinus infections i.e. 18.9%.
Other then these two this combination is also prescribed for Dental infections and Urinary Tract Infections. Ration is 13.2% and 8.5% respectively.

100% of Doctors are agreed with this statement. It works by the combined action of its two components. Amoxicillin kills the bacteria which is responsible for the infections and Clavulanic acid helps in maintaining an optimal level of Amoxicillin by inactivating the enzymes which break the Amoxicillin.
